I remember the first time I ever heard about some big bad dog called a Rottweiler. A buddy of mine was talking about how his house had gotten broken into and all his stuff was stolen.

He said he was going to get himself a Rottweiler, (I hope I am spelling that right). Anyhoo, I did not know what that was. I remember it sounded like some kind of heavy Earthmover to me. lol

My buddy told me and then said he knew where he could get one real cheap. I had just turned twenty years old at the time and for my birthday I had gotten a little bit of money from this little lady who liked me and whose daddy had more money than G….let's say the Rockefellers, for my birthday.

I thought to myself, “self”, I know, weird right? I would kind of like to have one of them there dogs too. So I asked him just how much “cheap” was.  He told me he could get one for as little as $700. This is the first time I had ever heard the words, “as little as,” and the word,”$700,” in the same sentence.

I'm from Alabama, yo. In Alabama, your first mobile home don't cost no $700. He asked me if I wanted to buy one too and I told him I was going to get one and a Doberman Pinscher. He asked why I was getting the Doberman. I told him I would have to have something to guard my Rottweiler.

We Need to be Guarding The Daily Word

Click here and read 2nd Peter 2:1-12 . Click on the little tab I designed to open up at the top of your screen. After you read the Bible passage, click the little “x” at the right of that tab and get back here, I got a lot to say and you ain't listening fast enough, lol.

On to the rat killing. When Timothy was in Ephesus he received his first letter from Paul. Timothy was teaching the Daily Word there. Timothy was God's man for the job, but there were also false teachers there who were taking from and adding to and changing God's Daily Word.

They do this today too. If you have a KJV Bible and an NIV Bible, just compare Colossians 1:13-14 to see what the NIV decided to take out. That's right. They took the Blood of Jesus out of the Bible. What can wash away my sins?

Paul wrote Timothy to remind him to guard what had been entrusted to him. We have the same commission ourselves to guard the daily word we receive from God .

Guarding the truth of God's Word is one thing that Paul warned Timothy to do more times than either one of those good ole boys could count.

2 Timothy 1:1414 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.  The guarding of the Word of God was important to Paul then, and it is important to me today. Thus, this post!!

So, Why do men want to change the Word of God?

Because man wants his religion. I can't stand religion. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with Jesus within us. Religion is when a man tries to reach God on his own terms.

Remember, Adam and Eve did not get kicked out of the Garden of Eden for wanting to be like Satan. They got kicked out for wanting to be like God. They just wanted to be like God, the Devils way.

For Whatever reason, man wants to earn salvation so he can say that he did it. However……

Salvation is a FREE Gift of God's GRACE!

Guarding The Living Daily Word
(What is a gift of God? not a what, that would be religion, it's a who is the gift of God?) Please see John 3:16

Our salvation is a FREE gift that was given to us by Almighty God, but salvation is NOT FREE. The Gift of our salvation cost God the ultimate price, His only begotten son.

God the Father paid for our salvation with the life of His only begotten Son, Jesus.  So as with any priceless gift that we receive and guard closely, how much more closely should we guard the gift of God's only begotten Son which is God's  Word made flesh. John 1:1-4;14

What Would You do? How Far Would You Go To Defend The Daily Word Of God?

Guarding the living daily WordWhen you are truly guarding something it means a whole lot more than just keeping an eye on it. In some cases, in order to truly guard something you have to be ready and prepared to lay down your life in its defense. Are you prepared to do this for God's Living and Daily Word ?

Are you guarding this gift? Are you defending the Truth, (why is Truth capitalized? Because it is a Proper name.)? Jesus is the Truth. Let me ask you a question. If you are a preacher, is what you are preaching Biblical Gospel?

There are too many life coaches calling themselves reverend and bishop, and apostle… makes no difference to me what they call themselves, God respects no man's person!!

When I ask if you are preaching Biblical Truth, I am asking you if you are confronting false teachers who preach that God is our spiritual genie, and we must simply “rub” the lamp of prayer and He will give us what we want because somehow we control Him?

This feel-good inspirational “O'steen” gospel that is being preached and taught today in place of the true Living & Daily Word that comes from God is false teaching.

The false teachers and preachers are insinuating that God is our spiritual genie, and all we have to do is simply “rub” the lamp of prayer and God will give us what we want because He is obligated to. GOD OWES YOU NOTHING!! Why? Because you have earned nothing. Anything you get from God is a gift.

What we need to be teaching the people is to confront sin in our own lives, confess to God that we are helpless to change, repent of our sins and ask Him to deliver us from evil!

We are to be changed by God's Daily Word. We are not to CHANGE that Word.  The True Gospel changes us instead of us changing it and if we are truly changed then we are new creations in Christ.

So fight the good fight when temptation arrives and seeks to steal the Truth from you that you are to guard steadfastly. Do not let the Word fall by the wayside where the birds will steal it.

Lock these things you have received in your heart that no man can keep you from receiving a full reward.  The Daily Word that has been entrusted to you.
