A Facebook friend replied on a post that I had shared about The Authority Of The Believer, that there was no such thing as luck. There isn't. God is sovereign and to say that things are dependent on some supernatural force such as luck would undermine the sovereignty of God and is a fist to the face of His deity.

The whole concept of luck is idolatry because it violates the first command and is the cornerstone of paganism. Omnipotence means there is not one iota, of one atom, that is not subservient to His Lordship. Superstition suggests that there is another power that rivals God Himself.

Anything except faith in God is a sin. Faith in luck or faith in faith, which is what name it and claim it is, is a mutiny against God to the highest order and moves faith to fear or fantasy. “Name it and claim it,” is a clenched fist against the face of God.

Adonai, the Supreme Being that Christians agree is Jehovah God, the Creator of this world and the universe it spins in, He alone is God. He is THE Sovereign Ruler, who wields all power and authority.

Jesus, the Word Himself by which all things were created that were created, came in the flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld Him as the only begotten of the Father full of grace and Truth.

Say His name, Jesus; there is something about that name. He is the one and only living God. He alone has all power.

The Authority Of The Believer – God Has Given Us Certain Authorities!

The Authority Of The Believer

Does God trust us with any authority? Does God delegate any power or authority to us? He has. God has entrusted a portion of His power within the believer. Don't believe me? Hey, let's go to the Word.

Luke 10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come…17. And the seventy returned again with joy saying,” Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name.” 18.  And He said unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19.  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20.  Not withstanding, in this rejoice, not that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Romans 5:18-19 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19.  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

Kingdom Authority is part of the greatest story Satan never told. We see how in the Luke passage that Jesus commissioned seventy of His disciples to go out to a lost world in His name, and they shouting for joy when they got back.

Let's look at the difference between the linebacker and the referee in a football game. The linebacker is, let's say, well over 6 feet tall, and weighs a little over 300 pounds. He’s muscle and bone and a big ole bad attitude. He eats quarterbacks for lunch, and he is crazy hungry, he’s strong, and he’s powerful.

Standing nose-to-nose with him is the referee. A short little troll-like creature, mild-mannered man in a black and white striped shirt with a whistle hanging out of his mouth. He might be  5’4 if he stands on his tippy-toes and weighs 145 pounds,(like we say in Alabama), soaking wet.

What is that in his hand? He has a little yellow handkerchief, he pulls it out and throws it on the ground. What happens now? I tell you what, the linebacker and all the other 300-pounders stop cold. If he is so inclined this little man can send the 300-pound linebacker to the showers, and we won't see him anymore until next time.

POWER? That's the linebacker. But the referee has AUTHORITY.  Imagine that you are just two inches tall, and there is a ten-foot demon that is going to take you down.

You stand up straight and grab your Bible and squeak out that you are standing on the authority of the Word of God. All of the sudden, the demon shrieks and turns tail and runs. You smile as if you did something great, and you did.

What you saw was a big ole demon about to destroy you, yet, you stood firm. Now, just turn around and compare that big ole demon to your great big God that uses Heaven as His throne and Earth as His footstool. That is the authority we have in Jesus. That is the POWER that the demons of hell see directly behind us when we raise our Sword to Attack.

The Authority Of The Believer – Restored

The Authority Of The BelieverSo, man was given authority of what God had created. What does that mean when man fell? Good question, let's look. Genesis 3:17b-24a, “Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil, you shall eat of it all the days of your life. 18. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. 19. In the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it, you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” … 23. Therefore the Lord God sent him [Adam] out of the Garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24. So He drove out the man…

Man has no authority in himself but in Christ, we are reconciled to the Father. We are being forged into His Image once more.

Something is being shaken in the heavens and the earth. In the second Adam, we see the dominion of the earth being restored and the authority over Satan and his minions being given to those who are footstep followers of Jesus Christ.

The Authority Of The Believer- Won Back In Christ

The Authority Of The BelieverGenesis 3:15 let the serpent know this would happen: 15 And I will put enmity between you [the serpent] and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

The Cross may have bruised His heel when He kicked Satan in the head by the crucifixion. However, when He arose from the dead, it crushed the head of the devil and there ain't no getting up from that.

What Mankind lost by sin in the Garden of Eden when Satan laid hold on the soul of a man, Jesus has been won back by His Cross on Golgotha's hill.
