Hello, Today I am going to be talking about one of our greatest enemies when we are in the very throws of spiritual warfare. I am talking about overcoming the sins of the flesh.

While the Word of God tells us to love our enemies and to pray for them, I am having a very hard time with one of my enemies, the one within.

No matter where I go, there I am. The Word of God tells us that when everything is boiled down to the bone, we really only have three enemies, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Let's now look at the man who was called by God and was given a six-fold mission.

An Example of Overcoming the Sins of the Flesh

Our Lord God called Jeremiah from the womb. God told him he would be a prophet to the nations of the world. What was Jeremiah's mission? His mission was a sixfold mandate to root up, tear down, utterly destroy, cast down, to build, and to plant.

Jeremiah, as humble as he was, accepted this calling because of, but in spite the spiritual warfare, that hell leveled against him, by the very forces of Satan himself and his minion of the damned. Jeremiah was obedient to the command and realized his mission, in the through, the power of God.

When I received Jesus as my Lord, He moved into my heart, where God moved the temple, according to God's Holy Word. Now for me to live is Christ. Salvation has made me a prophet, priest, and king through His royal blood that flows through my veins. So, why did He save me?

Well, first He saved me because He loves me. However, that isn't all folks. Christians are still called to root up, pull down strongholds and imaginations, utterly destroy malicious activity, cast down the minion of the damned, by the name of Jesus, build up one another, and to plant Churches, and to start, and to join ministries.

Want to join this ministry? I need a children's minister. If God has called you for the job, let me know in comments along with a little about your qualifications. Read this and then tell me your testimony here. I love the skills that did not come from schools of higher learning too. I need your testimony, proclaiming Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and that there is no God but Jehovah. Click here. Christians do not always engage in physical warfare.

Why? Because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, for we wrestle “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).

We have spiritual weapons like the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit and prayer (vv. 14-18). 2 Cor. 10:3-6,“Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

A Few Things ole' Slufoot Doesn’t Want You to Be Aware Of .

One, Satan doesn’t want you to know who you are in Christ, and that you have the authority in Christ to root up the tares, pull down the cults and false churches. The Destroyer (the devil) does not want you to know, that God has given you to destroy his heresy, throw down his cunningly devised snares, build up the brethren, and especially Jesus, and to plant the seed of Truth in the ear of the lost.

Number Two, the great red dragon (the devil), does not want you to be aware of the fact that, you are wrestling against entities without bodies. He does not want you to know that, Abandon has leveled the whole of his arsenal at the family. That we are in a battle with no holds barred, that targets our minds, (the battlefield is in the mind and is very real).

You had better know, that you can not do battle with the Apollyon, in the body of this flesh, yet the Accuser of our brethren knows that that, one of our greatest temptation is to rely on the flesh. Pride is the mother of all sin. Eve did not make the first sin; it was the Adversary in Heaven when he was lifted up in pride.

Many Christians even take pride in their spiritual warfare skills. Jesus told us not to rejoice when the evil ones are subject to us in His name, but rather to rejoice, that our names are written down in Heaven! The Bible says we are to have a “readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Cor. 10:6, KJV).

The more we seek to walk in obedience to His Commands the more humble we will be, and God gives strength to the humble and resists the proud. The more humble we are the more effective we’ll be in spiritual warfare. In our flesh, we’re no match for the devil. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to back up our authority in Christ, to root out, pull down, destroy, throw down, build and plant.

We Are Powerless Unless We Are Overcoming the Sins of the Flesh.

We can’t drive demons into obedience to the Word of God when we’re blatantly disobeying the Word of God in any area, whether it’s walking in pride or some other sin. Before you engage in spiritual warfare, examine your heart, and take the time to break the agreement with the enemy, repent before God and ask for His guidance.

It could be that you’ve opened the door to the spiritual enemies that are attacking you and that simply renouncing agreement with them will stop the attack. In any case, we should enter spiritual warfare with confidence, but not arrogance. We can be confident that God will lead us to victory over our enemies if we lean and depend on Him, and not on carnal weapons or pride. Amen.
