More and more North Americans these days are becoming aware, that while Christianity is still the dominant faith in North America, we are falling back in the polls of confessing Christians. They are beginning to ask the differences in the Bible Versus Quran.
  • Christian identification is down from 80% in 2008
  • 75% of Americans identify with a Christian religion just four days from Christmas 2015.
  • 5% of Americans identify with a non-Christian religion, little changed

So, what is the faith we are sliding toward in the U.S.A.? Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and a smattering of individual mentions.

While the number of professing Christianity, (not to be mistaken with actual footstep followers of Jesus Christ), may be coming down, they are still miles above religions.

Bible Versus Quran Differences of Faith

The main things which separate Christianity from other faiths are that, Christians believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is alive having arisen from the dead.

Although there is a myriad of other differences, the other main difference is that Christianity is not a religion, in as much as a man trying to please his God, by works of righteousness for salvation, or ascension or whatever the prize may be.

True Christianity believes that God saved us while we were dead in trespasses and sin. We work because we love Him, and we love Him because He first Loved us.

While religion reaches up to a god, and tries to please him for the favor, Christianity teaches us that it was God who came to Earth, and that we cannot please Him apart from Christ working within us.

Christianity is a relationship where God does the work through us, like a hand in a glove. In religions, it is the man that does the work.

While this was the case in the Old Testament, ( treaty, contract, accord, agreement) The New Testament teaches that God came to Earth, and sought us out, and saved us while we were dead in trespasses and sin.

Bible Versus Quran – Population Differences

While Christianity is a whopping 75.2 % in the USA, that's entirely different from the world as a whole: Fifty-two % of the Earth's population are not Christian, compared to 24.8 % in the United States; and a third is Christian, compared to 75.2 % in the USA.

These are not apples to apple comparisons. Why?  Because the Encyclopedia Britannica's world figures for the full population of the world. The U.S.A's numbers are among adults only.

Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?

Since 11 September 2001, was a day that changed America forever, or so we thought. There was a huge concern about the growth and spread of the teachings of Islam.

This concern has quailed due to the passing of 15 years and a new generation asleep, disassociated with reality. I have even heard some call me a racist. Really? How so? Muslims are in all colors, and not everyone from the middle east is Muslim.

They say time heals all wounds, but in this case, it is the opinion of this writer that time is a thief, a lullaby sang by fools. In the face of one of the darkest days in the annals of history, is there any wonder why most of the USA, as well as Christians around the world, are asking is Islam a religion of violence?

Bible Versus Quran – What do Muslims Say They Believe?

The central religious text, which Muslims believe to be the word of god,(Allah), verbatim is the holy book of Islam and is called the Quran, pronounced: Kor'an in English and means “the recitation.” Also known by transliteration as Qur'an, Koran, Al-Coran, Coran, Kuran, and Al-Qur'an. So the world is asking does the Quran contain over a hundred verses promoting violence?

Yes, yes it does. Research of the Quran shows it contains at least 109 verses, that call it's disciples, (Muslims), to war with the infidels, (nonbelievers). This religious cleansing is the goal of global rule of Islamic domination.

 BIBLE VERSUS QURAN

Before I begin with the verses, that I have found, and will share in a series I call, “Is Islam a religion of violence,” I want to warn you that some are extremely graphic and horrific.

The verses deal with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding.

While it is true that not all professing Muslims are violent, those who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites' and told that their god Allah will send them to Hell-fire if they do not take part in the slaughter of the innocents.

Christian often do not rightly divide Scripture when they quote, ” if God is for us who can be against us?” with the implication being no one. Christians need to keep reading because the real answer is everyone. In fact, the Holy Bible goes on to say in Romans 8:36 As it is written, “For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Bible Versus Quran – What Does the Bible Say About What Will Happen to Me if I Place My Trust in Jesus?

Teddy Bear, we always overcome by faith. Right? Yes and No. Let's look at the faith chapter of Hebrews chapter 11, Start at verse 32. “32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection”:

Do Not Miss This Switch !!!

“36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder (cut in halves), were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report, through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

WHAT ABOUT THE OLD TESTAMENT WHEN WE COMPARE THE BIBLE VERSUS QURAN?

Bible verses QuranWhile the opponents of the Truth, (capital “T” because THE Truth is Jesus Christ) will proclaim the Old Testament is full of verses of violence.

The main difference is that the Old Testament is old and is ready to vanish away. The violent verses in the Quran are still open-ended.

What do I mean by that you ask? What I am saying is that they ARE NOT restrained by the historical context contained by the era of the surrounding text (although many Muslims claim this to be the case).

The fact is that that to the disciples of the Al-Coran (Quran), these verses are part of what they call the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant to interpretation as anything else in the Quran.

Even if you take it as closed-ended to the context (which it is not contextual), the meaning of these horrific and violent verses are more ambiguous than this writer expected of a (I hesitate) perfect book from a loving god.

Everything that I have searched and studied and read tells me that most contemporary Muslims make it their personal choice to interpret what their holy book's clarion cry and call to arms, according to THEIR moral preconceptions, of justifiable violence.

Compare the Homiletic & Apologetic of the Bible Versus the Quran.

The apologetic of the Holy Bible and the Quran vary significantly. Their apologists cater to these preferences with arguments that try to gloss over historical fact. However, the real students of history prove that their apologetic just do not hold up to scrutiny.

It is important to mention that the problem isn't bad people, for there are no good people, no not one. It is not bad people, but bad ideology. Is Islam a religion of violence? Answer for yourself, after you read the following pages, Is Islam a religion of Violence?.

To answer the question requires it to be weighed in the balance, and I find it wanting. Why? There are very few verses of love, tolerance, and peace to balance out the overwhelming amount of verses that call infidels to be caught, fought and subdued until they either accept and convert to Islam or killed.

Muhammad's martial legacy, have produced a trail of blood and tears across world history, along with the incredible stress and call for violence, found in the Quran.
