When someone comes to know the Lord through Salvation, which is initiated by the Holy Spirit, they receive individual gifts of the Spirit for the purpose of edifying King Jesus' Church. Not only those who are new in the faith receive the greatest of all Spiritual Gift, which is Salvation, but they also receive at least one additional Spiritual Gift and sometimes more.
You will find the spiritual gifts which I have listed below in three different passages in the Word of God:
Romans 12:6-8 King James Version (KJV) 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
1 Corinthians 12:8-10 King James Version (KJV) 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: I have listed the Spiritual Gifts below for further understanding, we will be going into a greater depth with each in upcoming posts.

19 Spiritual Gifts – The Nature and Purpose
- I Loved This Book And Highly Recommend It. To Review, Just Click On The Book.
Having been convicted of our sins, convinced we need a savior and helpless to save ourselves, having confessed and repented of our sins and proclaimed Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father, something miraculous occurs. Not only does the Spirit of The Living God come into our hearts to live, but He gives us at least one other of the remaining 19 Spiritual Gifts.
You may be wondering just what Spiritual Gift or Gifts the Holy Spirit gave you at salvation. Are you saved? Salvation itself is the greatest of all Spiritual Gifts. However, Every believer is given gifts when God places you into the Body of Christ, His' Church. Let's look at Romans 12:3-8; (KJV) 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according to as God hath dealt every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and everyone member one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness
19 Spiritual Gifts – Your Gift Must Be Developed
- Okay, well the first step to developing your Spiritual Gift is to know what that Spiritual Gift(s) is. So, just how can I determine what my Spiritual Gift(s) is, you ask?
That's an easy one. Get busy in the Church. Where God guides, God provides. I can not express enough that it is of the utmost important to realize that there is the fullness of joy in the presence of God. When you are where you are supposed to be doing what you are expected to be doing for God with the Spiritual Gift(s) that God's Holy Spirit has given you, there will be the fullness of joy. Now, you must determine in yourself that you are going to be exercising your Spiritual Gift(s). How by doing what you love to do for the LORD on a continuous and ongoing basis.
God will give you confirmation that you have found your place in the Church and that you are using your Spiritual Gift(s) because you will be enjoying yourself and quickly successful at what you are doing with God’s help. You will know you have arrived because there will be validation from the Body of Christ. The Church will affirm you and encourage you to continue and urge you to grow. You will find that when you exercise your Spiritual Gift(s) that the members of the Church will feel and be blessed. I think that it is paramount to say here, that there are some things that everyone can do in the Church. You don't need the Spiritual Gift of picking up trash to make sure that the grounds around the Church are free of debris. I don't know anyone that is compelled to serve God that does not have the Spiritual Gift of Helps to some degree. If you have yet to find your Spiritual Gift and calling within the family of God, I would suggest assisting in the church’s Sunday School classes as an aid or try your hand at writing with letter evangelism, and there is always personal witnessing. So Christians will say to me that they cannot witness. I laugh when they say silly things like this. What does a witness do? They only tell what they have seen and heard. Question. Has God ever done anything for you? He saved you did He not? Where were you? How did you feel when salvation happened to you? What was your life like before? What is your life like now? What are your struggles as a Christian? What are your strengths? Have you seen or heard about any Miracles? What is a Miracle? A Miracle is a supernatural event bearing witness of the work of God!! Are you not a MIRACLE? Tell the lost about you!!
19 Spiritual Gifts – You Feel Inadequate
Let me guess. You are where you know you are supposed to be. FINALLY… however, why am I feeling inadequate? I know…RIGHT?!? Did you know that the problem of feeling inadequate about spiritual gifts is very common with the giants of the faith? Here are some Scriptures that you can read. Click HERE! 2 Corinthians 3:5, 2 Corinthians 9:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, God is pleased when our inadequacy causes us to lean on Him and trust Him to supply all our needs. Hebrews 11, The Faith Chapter is chocked full of some of the greatest men and women in the history of the Bible who felt inadequate to do what God called them to do. You know what they did? They did what they were called to do in spite of their feelings of inadequacies. What was lost by sin has been won back by Jesus on the Cross.
